Taste of Home

Ok... so I know we haven't been away that long - mere days in fact; however, we haven't been eating out for every meal. In fact, we have been avoiding it since since we find food here expensive (it is an island... called Iceland even.. who would have guessed?) and therefore we have been making several meals in our small wee kitchen at our apartment hotel.

A couple of nights ago, we made Icelandic Mac & Cheese! Complete with authentic Icelandic Hot Dogs. In case you weren't aware, hot dogs are practically things of legend over here (close to some kinds of sausages in Canada) and everyone LOVES them.

Icelandic KD Box

Hot Dogs - And Yeah, the Guy on the front is apparently famous for his Hot Dogs...

The mac and cheese was a close substitute for KD, however it lacked the nuclear orange colour - which oddly enough was kinda creepy rather than comforting...

The legend worthy hot dogs were very salty and porky - in fact, I was sneaking what was left of my pieces into Matthew's bowl since they really did become overpowering towards the end.

Finished Product:
Hmmm.... Mac & Cheese
