Pannenkoek

So... aside from Weed and Red Lights in Amsterdam, there is also the chance to stop in and have a dutch pancake called pannenkoek (literally, pancake in dutch).




I am sure some people have tried the "Phanasical Pannenkoek" place in Calgary (spelling not guaranteed) and this was pretty much more of the same except that it was in Holland.. rather than Calgary.

Still, we weren't put off!

Based on the recommendations of the gal manning the cafe all by herself - we ordered the Nutella (no, really - it was honestly her favorite sweet crepe) and a cheese with the caramel syrup.

The dough is slightly sour (almost like a sourdough bread) and it lent itself well to both sweet and savory variations. Here are a couple of photos:
