Pizza Cooking Lesson

While in Florence, Matthew and I decided to do a cooking lesson to learn the Rome/Northern Italy style thin crust pizza.. it was surprisingly fun! There were some ladies from NY State who also participated, but we lucked out since there was only 5 of us total...

When we get back.. Matt's cooking us all a pizza party!
Check out Matt's skillz ;-)

So first up: The dough!
Work it, kneed it, and then balloon it into balls and wait for it to rise -

Matt, waiting for his balls to rise.......
Step two: Roll yer out.. nice and thin (don't forget flour under it... otherwise you just made a counter weight!)

Step Three: Garnish with quality ingredients (Moto of Italian Cooking)
We had (left side, top to bottom when applicable):
Fresh Mozzarella Cheese (**woon**)
Fresh Ripped Up Basil (better than slicing, since you bruise the leaves)
Dried Hot Chili Flakes
Dried Oregano
Garlic infused Olive Oil
Hot Genoa Salami
Quality Ingredients

Next Step: Cook it! (hot hot hot)

The chef/Instructor, Julio - helping one of the ladies from NY State get the pizza on the giant spatula

Matt's finish Pizza
(I was proud that he put green on it!)

Second Last Step!!!
Eat it! :)
Me eating pizza - I made a calzone (pizza folded over into a "pizza dumpling" like thingie)

So what is the very last step you ask?
Easy - for Matt - it was drink the rest of the wine and smirk that you made epic pizza!

Cheers!
